Rapture Terms of Service

By using Rapture ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Service Description

Rapture is a hands-free voice capture app. On both platforms (iOS 1.0.200 and later, Android 1.0.718 and later), recording, on-device transcription, on-device AI formatting, the note library, and manual sharing are free. A single one-time purchase unlocks automatic delivery of notes to services you connect:

• iOS destinations: Google Drive, iCloud Drive, Slack, Discord, Google Tasks, Notion, and Rapture for Mac (relayed through your own iCloud)
• Android destinations: Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Tasks, Slack, Discord, Notion, Telegram, and Obsidian (Markdown files written to a folder in your Drive)

No account and no subscription exist on either platform. Earlier Android versions (before 1.0.718) offered cloud transcription with a 30-day trial and a Pro subscription; that offering is discontinued (see Section 4).

2. User Accounts

Rapture has no account and no login. Signing in with Google is optional and only connects the Google delivery destinations (Drive, Docs, Tasks). Where you connect a Google account, you are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your Google account
• All activities that occur under your account
• Ensuring you have permission to use the Google account

3. One-Time Purchase Terms

• The unlock is a one-time, non-consumable purchase billed through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and subject to that store's payment terms
• It permanently unlocks automatic delivery of notes to connected services on your Apple ID or Google account — no recurring charges
• Use "Restore Purchase" in Settings to re-activate the unlock on a new device or reinstall
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their store policies
• Recording, transcription, formatting, the note library, and manual sharing remain free without the purchase

4. Discontinued Android Trials & Subscriptions

As of Android 1.0.718 (July 2026), the 30-day free trial and the Pro subscription ($5.99/month or $59.99/year) are discontinued and no longer offered. The cloud transcription service they metered is retired; transcription and formatting are now on-device and free.

• If you still have an active Pro subscription from an earlier version, cancel it through Google Play (Play Store → Payments & subscriptions) to avoid further renewals
• Refunds for subscription charges are handled according to Google Play Store policy; contact support@noisemeld.com with any questions
• Recordings and transcriptions created during a past trial or subscription remain yours and stay accessible in the app

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for illegal purposes
• Record conversations without consent where required by law
• Attempt to circumvent the one-time purchase requirement
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others

6. Content Ownership

You retain all rights to your recordings, transcriptions, and notes. Rapture does not claim ownership of your content. Your content is stored on your device and in the destinations you enable (such as your personal Google Drive or iCloud), which you control.

7. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable software but do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted access to the App
• Error-free operation
• Transcription and AI-formatting accuracy (machine-generated output may contain errors)
• AI formatting on every device (on low-memory devices the App keeps the raw transcript instead of a formatted note)
• Successful deliveries to connected services in all network conditions
• Availability of the on-device model download at all times (iOS; models are fetched once after install. On Android the models ship inside the Play install.)

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BENSOLUTIONS LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Lost recordings or transcriptions
• Inaccurate transcriptions
• Service interruptions
• Data loss due to Google Drive quota limits
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

9. Third-Party Services

Rapture integrates with:

• Google Drive / Docs / Tasks: Subject to Google's Terms of Service
• iCloud Drive (iOS): Subject to Apple's Terms of Service
• Slack, Discord, Notion, Telegram (delivery destinations): Subject to each service's terms; webhooks, integrations, and bot tokens are created and owned by you
• Apple App Store (iOS billing): Subject to Apple's Media Services Terms
• Google Play Billing (Android billing): Subject to Google Play's Terms

We are not responsible for the performance or policies of these third-party services.

10. Recording Laws

Important: Recording laws vary by jurisdiction. You are responsible for:

• Understanding local recording consent laws
• Obtaining necessary consent before recording conversations
• Compliance with wiretapping and eavesdropping laws

Rapture is designed for personal note-taking. We are not responsible for your use of recordings.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of new Terms. We will notify users of material changes through the App or this page.

12. Termination

We may terminate the license granted by these Terms if you violate them. You may stop using Rapture at any time by uninstalling the App — there is no account to close. If you have a legacy Android subscription, cancel it through Google Play (see Section 4).

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
